Team Blog!
Not sure if we need individual blogs, so I'll be updating the team blog more than this one unless we need to have individual ones, then I'll be putting more effort into this.

Update 6/7/12
We've got most of our story boards done, we're filming this weekend then editing next week.
Deadline for filming is on Tuesday.
Deadline for filming is on Tuesday.
Preliminary Task
For our preliminary task, we chose a song as a class we all had to make a music video for.
The song we chose in the end was:
I'm going to be working with Hana Potter http://www.blogger.com/profile/04770531385141720966
Our team name is Team Trollaphone (From the troll face on the streaker, and the inflatable saxaphone in the video).

Moodboard of awesome music vids
Top row (left to right):
Gotye - Hearts a mess (excelent animation that adds a dark, melancholic vibe to the song/lyrics)
Adele - Chasing pavements (remember this song from when I was younger, like the 'lying down but looks like standing' effect)
Kanye West - Heartless (first time I ever saw rotoscoping, I like the smoke effect from his ciggy)
Blur - Coffee and TV (such a happy milk carton :3)
Junior Senior - Dont stop/Move your feet (this video used to be played all the time on a music video show, still love the bright colours today)
A Ha - Take on me (first time I ever saw animation being used in a music video, was veeery young when I first saw this, and its still ingrained in my memory as being awesome)
Super furry animals - Hello sunshine (didn't link the song at all to flying flat colour ponies, good example of how a song and music video can be completely different beasts)
David Bowie - Ashes to ashes (was very advanced (and expensive) for its time)
Second row (left to right):
Coldplay - Life in technicolour motion ii (thought it was an advert at first, then the puppets came in)
Damon Albarn/ UK Chinese Ensemble - Monkey Bee (more of a short film then a music video)
tUnE yArDs - Bizness (so colourful and expressive!)
Gnarls Barkley - Go go gadget gospel (short, but hilarious)
Erasure - Always (great mise en scene)
Third row (left to right):
Coldplay - Dont panic (short but sweet, though it seems to be a message for global warming or something, I like the cut out effect)
Tenacious D - Tribute (YEESSSSS)
Super furry animals - Juxtaposed with u (not seen this effect done before in a music video, interesting)
Mika - Rain (lovely mise en scene, can tell its low budget, but its effective)
Trance - Crazy loop mma ma ma (just, yes)
Prince - Strawberry Beret (that cloud suit)
Pulp - Common people (shows its age, but good example of following the lyrics like a narrative)
Moby - Natural blues (not the best animation, but its simple and oddly more effective (in my opinion) then the live action version)
Fourth row (left to right):
A Ha - Foot of the mountain
The last shadow puppets - Age of the understatement (so juxtaposed, but full of energy)
Mika - Lollipop ('suck too hard~...' abit of colourful fun)
Ce lo Green - Forget/F**k you (nice showing of time passing with different outfits and locations)
Linkin Park - Breaking the habit (nice animation)
Lights - Second go (colours!)
The Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight tonight (Been awhile since I saw this, so imagineative and I like the older style)
Coldplay - The scientist (the backwards thing is pretty cool, I like Chris Martin's teeth)
Bottom row (left to right):
Coldplay - Strawberry swing (so much effort put in to it)
Herbie Hancock - Rockit (just....wha?)
Gorillaz - Some kind of nature (not really a music video (was to be put on the screen behind the band while being performed) but it suits the song so well)
Queen - Bohemian rhapsody (obvious reasons)
Gorillaz - Dirty Harry (excellent animation)
Massive attack - Butterfly (just the slow, menacing tattooing of the butterfly like patterns on the singer's skin...chills)
Red hot chilli peppers - Can't stop (Man dressed as a tent, and Jesus in a wheelie bin....plus the lead singer looks like my old maths teacher)
Fatboy slim - Praise you (ultra low budget, yet so memorable and simple a concept)
